The Consorzio Tutela Lambrusco is a non-profit, interprofessional association that was established on January 1, 2021. It was created by bringing together three Consortia: Consorzio Tutela del Lambrusco di Modena, Consorzio Tutela e Promozione dei Vini Reggiani DOP e Consorzio Tutela Vini Reno. These comprise wine producers in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia with the common aim of promoting, safeguarding and overseeing the information for consumers with reference to the geographic Denominations of Origin that have consolidated the success and fame of Lambrusco in the world. Lambrusco is the world’s most widely distributed wine and its producers are proud of its birthplace, culture and country.

Oversight and safeguarding
In conjunction with the Department of the Central Inspectorate for the Protection of Quality and Fraud Repression of Agro-Food products of the Agriculture Ministry, the Consortium plays an important role of vigilance in the selling phase of DOC wines. It undertakes sample testing of bottles in order to safeguard consumers wanting to buy DOC wines. Administratively, it also does research to safeguard the DOCs against plagiarism and other illegal activities.
Promotion and Valorisation
The Consortium promotes Lambrusco as a quality wine in the national and international markets. Its role is also to keep the consumer informed with information about Lambrusco to strengthen the image of the DOCs. It takes part in the most important trade and consumer wine fairs with the aim of increasing the knowledge of Lambrusco in all its guises.
